The Miata is autocross. The Miata is BR Series.

The Miata is autocross. The Miata has been the most-entered car in SCCA autocross competition for most of the past three decades. Serious Miata builders run serious coilovers. We happen to carry BC Racing fitments for every Miata generation from NA through ND. The BR Series on a Miata is one of the canonical answers to "which coilover should I buy?" in the Miata community.

Mazda fitment coverage

Miata across NA, NB, NC, and ND generations. Mazda 3 (BK, BL, BM/BN/BP). MazdaSpeed 3, MazdaSpeed 6 for the hot-sedan crowd. RX-7 in FC and FD chassis (the FD is a serious enthusiast platform). RX-8 (SE3P). CX-3 fitments more limited but exist.

Which BC Racing series for Mazda

The BR Series is the Mazda workhorse. Miata buyers across all four generations run BR Series setups for autocross and weekend track use. MazdaSpeed 3 hot-hatch builds run BR Series. RX-8 street builds run BR Series.

Spring rate guidance for Miata: 8k/6k street, 10k/8k track. The lightweight chassis carries about a thousand pounds less than most platforms BC Racing fits. That changes what spring rates make sense. A 7k front rate on a Miata does the work of an 11k rate on a heavier car.

Track-focused Miata builds and serious RX-7 FD setups step up to the ER Series. The lightweight Miata chassis rewards the ER's dual-adjustable range when driven hard.

RX-7 FD buyers preparing dedicated track or competition cars sometimes look at the RM or ZR Series. The chassis has the heritage to justify the kit ambition.

Mazda 3 specifically

Mazda 3 demand has been growing recently. Both the regular Mazda 3 (BM/BN/BP) and the MazdaSpeed 3 have BC Racing BR Series fitments. Typical setups run 10k/8k for street use. The platform's been getting more attention from the hot-hatch community lately, and BR Series sales reflect that.

Cross-platform note

The Subaru BRZ shares its 86 platform with Toyota. If you're shopping Mazda for lightweight-coupe reasons, the BRZ and 86 are worth comparing.
